Cat pendant gift for a friend

I made this pendant for a friend who i haven’t seen for a number of years as she lives in Australia. Recently she came over to the UK for a visit, so i decided to make this and gift it in person. Much easier to give in person than to post to the other side of the world!

So, cat pendant :)

Long time no post

Haven’t posted much for a while due to life getting in the way.

Have been focussing on getting the flat tidy and organised, so all my jewellery/craft stuff has been put away for now.

Still have a few items on the back burner, but health and time haven’t allowed progress to be made.

Cuff- links

Made some more cuff-links for Richard. Simpler this time.

I’ve since made another pair, but haven’t taken photos as yet.

Until next time

New items and a work in progress.

I haven’t been able to do much in the way of jewellery or crafts recently due to health and other committments.

However this past week I’ve tried something new, having gotten Richard to print some collage sheets i got via etsy for me.

First up, dragons!

I kinda like how this has come out myself. The image has come out fairly clearly (I’m not sure if mod podge is the best for doing this with, but it seems to work mostly ok). The pendant frame is polymer clay as I lacked any metal ones in my stash of a suitable size. I used a ribbon cord instead of chain for a change as well.

Next up, some smaller pendants.

Just visible on the left is another where I tried using glitter nail polish, backed with purple/black polish. It came out ok i think.

A friend asked me to make her a necklace and ring, so liking things to be unique i made these.

I’ve been working on a item for Richard for a while now, or at least mostly planning it until now. A sneak peak below :-)

The plan is for the front to have a polymer clay design, featuring a dragon of some kind. The rest painted black/copper. The picture above shows the side and back of it.

I’ve made some more cufflinks for Richard too, but more on those after he gets chance to see them first :)

I’ve also made a surprise gift for a friend, so I’ll post photos of that at a later date.

Thats all for now.

Aside

I had set up so that a couple of posts (this one and this one) would post on a schedule. However it appears I have a gremlin causing issues in the scheduling (wp-cron) bit of the site software (WordPress). I’m not sure what caused it really.

Anyway, the respective posts are now posted. I guess it meant the Sir Terry Pratchett post I made was the newest for a while longer at least.

No new crafts or jewellery to share sadly. Hopefully will have some soon, but have Gadget Show Live to look forward to in the meantime :)

Until next time.

Purple haze

A quick post with some recent items i’ve made.

I also found some nice items in a charity shop recently that should provide some useful beads for more projects (to add to the big pile of such finds!).

Birmingham Comic Con and some work in progress

So last weekend it was MCM Memorabilia/Comic Con at the NEC in BIrmingham. It was the first time Richard had made it along to it. We had a lovely time and came away with a few geeky items, mostly it was a few items of jewellery.

Unfortunately this year I forgot my camera so didn’t take any photos of the various cosplay costumes on display.

As well as Comic Con last weekend I have been working on a few items, one of which is still a work in progress.

With the passing of my favourite author – Sir Terry Pratchett – I decided I wanted to make some items that were Discworld themed, one of these is below. I have plans for a few other items too, more on those at a later date though.
